Soapbox Sunday

(If you don't like looking at feet, do not read on because my feet are all up in this post...and they aren't necessarily manicured)

I LOVE my feet to be exposed to the elements. I really don't like shoes, but if I have to wear them, flip-flops or sandals are me. My granny always said my feet were going to be flat and wide if I didn't put on a real pair of shoes. But, on the news today I saw that wearing high heels causes permanent calf muscle damage, so basically everything causes cancer.

It was revealed to me yesterday that I have a gold shoe fetish!

My sister first introduced me to a brushed gold looking thong flip-flop from target some years ago when we were in college. I had no idea what to wear them with because I am not a gold girl at all. She told me everything....so, I did. I wore them with everything...everyday. They are so worn out. But, EIGHT years later I still wear them and all their glory. They have only been glued twice. I didn't want to get rid of them because I haven't ever seen anything like them...UNTIL (and I still didn't get rid of them) the Loft had them about 5 years ago. I thought...here is my chance...get them for LIFE! So, I bought two pair. I hadn't had a new pair in 3 years. Justified.

Moving on...they are talking to me now...both pair. I found a pair (#4) at Charlotte Russe. These are much brighter and strappier (is that a word?..nope, it's underlined in red, thank you spell check). I don't wear these as much, as they are a little more dressy, so they have held up well.

I found the CUTEST pair at Wal-Mart. Still not exactly what I was looking for, but none the less, they were rolling back prices and I LOVED the sandals. I wear these as much as I wore my first ones. They are stretched out now, so I am thinking about just cutting the back strap off and wearing them as flip-flops rather than sandals.
Wal-Mart Roll backs (sorry about the color, I took this one inside because I forgot to take it)
About a month ago, Gram (Mike's grandmother) were out shopping and I found a pair of brushed gold sandals at Belk's. I didn't HAVE to have them, but I did. I put them down, walked away and then walked back.  They remind me of something the Egyptian's wore. And gram bought them for me, so there is no need to justify these. :)

Last night, Renee (a friend of mine) were out and about. I walked in Old Navy and as we turned to the left and then right, HOLY, it was like a beam from heaven was shining down and the angels were singing "AAAAAHHHHHHHH". Know what I mean? Did you say the "AAAAHHHHHHH" out loud??? THERE. THEY. WERE. Finally! A pair that are almost exactly like my worn out Target and talking Lofts. Even better...they were on clearance. ELEVEN BUCKS! WHYYYY didn't I get two pair???

Last night I was telling (justifying my purchase) Mike about them and he said something along the lines of having 20 pair of gold ones already. He doesn't even know what to look for anymore when I lose one of "my gold ones". :0) This silver girl LOVES her some brushed gold flops!
